website address or "domain name" (example: yourname.com). We can handle U.S.
domain name registration or transfers on your behalf. (ie: .com, .net, .org). The InterNIC
charges $70 to register a domain name which covers the first two years. They currently
bill at a rate of $35 per year thereafter.
If you know the domain name you want, Hawk will register the domain for you. Just contact us and and we will be happy to take your order and register you site. If you do not know the name you want, use the search below to look one up. You may register domain names where ever you are in the world for an InterNIC registration fee of $70.00, which includes the first two years of name maintenance, you can activate your name immediately. You will receive the $70.00 bill from Network Solutions, if you wish your domain to be secured you must mail this payment in promptly.

same domain in .com, .net, and .org to protect their identity. Individuals may, however,
not be worried about that and choose only a .net, if that is all that's available.)
What
is a domain name?
A domain name is a unique name given to each website on the Internet in order to remember
it easily and allow other computers to find it easily. Without a domain name,
Internet users around the world will find it more difficult to find your website.
A domain name can be any andy combination of words, such as hawkpci.net, however:
The only characters allowed are letters, digits and the dash (-).
A domain name cannot begin or end with a dash.
Spaces are not allowed. You may want to use the dash (-) instead.
A domain name can be up to 26 characters long, including the 4 characters in the Top Level Domain (.NET, .COM, .ORG) (www. is NOT part of a domain name. It only identifies a Web Site using that domain name.
The domain you want must be unique and not currently reservered by InterNIC
What is a Top Level
domain?
A Top Level domain is the .com ("dot com") or .net ("dot net") part of
a domain name. There are currently 3 basic Top Level domains for private
individuals and companies to register. Consult the list below to determine the most
appropriate top-level domain for your use. These domains are for international use.
They are available to individuals or businesses in any country:
.COM is for commercial, for-profit organizations.
.ORG is for miscellaneous, usually non-profit, organizations.
.NET is for network infrastructure machines and organizations.
In addition to the above international names, there are two letter country domains which are controlled by the registering agency in each country, for example, .uk in the United Kingdom and .ca in Canada.
When you choose a domain name, you must also select a Top Level domain. Due to the shortage of .com domain names, it has become acceptable for all businesses and organizations to use the .net Top Level domain.
How do I get a domain
name?
InterNIC is the organization that registers the international Top Level domains .com,
.org, and .net. If you have a domain server to host your domain name (that would be
us if you sign up for hosting), Hawk can register your domain name
with InterNIC directly. Once your name is registered, you may keep it, sell it or
move it to any domain server of your choice.
How much does it
cost?
Registration with InterNIC (Network Solutions, Inc.) costs $70 US for two years use of a
domain name. After the two years, the name may be renewed for $35/yr.
Registration pricing is subject to change by InterNIC at any time.
Registration costs for other country domain names (e.g.: .uk, .ca, .md, etc.) are controlled by each country and are not necessarily the same as the InterNIC registration costs.
What domain names
are available?
It's difficult to say: over 70,000 domain names are being registered each month!!
If you have a name you would like to register, you may enter it in your
browser and see if it brings up a website by that name. If so, then the name is not
available, but if no website is found, the name may still be taken. Hawk Internet
will do a no-charge (free!!) domain name search for you and advise you of the results by
e-mail.
